Dan's Tech Stuff
Software I've Written
I like to code. My favorite languages
are Python
and C.
Hardware hacking
-
Firmware Goblin
This program automatically extracts the firmware for
an EZ-USB based
device.
-
imount
This program
quickly mounts disk and CD images. Very handy when doing
embedded development or using emulators or
virtualization.
-
NEW!!
Python SCSI generic library
This is a small Python extension to send arbitrary commands to
SCSI
devices under Linux.
Networking
- UMD Wireless Network
Automatic Login
This is a little program to keep you
logged in to the University of Maryland wireless network, so you
don't have to keep putting your password into the stupid web
interface.
- CellPhoneProxy
Get free internet
access on your Motorola E815 phone with Verizon. This proxy
server works around some of the bugs in this phone's
browser.
Measurement
-
VIX: VISA Instrument
Xplorer
This is a GUI for laboratory instrument
automation, similar to the "GPIB Explorer" program provided by
National Instruments.
-
Linux
GPIB (contributor)
I've contributed to the Python
bindings for the Linux GPIB package, which allows you to
control laboratory instruments using
the GPIB bus
under Linux.
